General Overview: Issued 7.59pm 18th September:
A ridge of high pressure is forecast to bring settled conditions to most of the South Island on Friday and Saturday morning before a new active trough and possible low pressure system approach later on Saturday, with rain developing in the southwest and winds picking up.
There remains uncertainty as we head into Sunday morning, however there are a large number of wind and rain risks across the South Island on Sunday, including the risk for spill-over rain a little further east than normal.
